This role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting children with additional needs, particularly those who are non-verbal or exhibit challenging behaviour. Key Details: Location: N17, North London (Tottenham) Start Date: September 2025 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only) Contract: Ongoing long-term The Role: You will be joining a supportive early years team, working with nursery-aged children (2–4 years old) who require additional support. Your key responsibilities will include: Providing 1:1 and small group support Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours Supporting non-verbal communication (experience with PECS or Makaton is advantageous) Collaborating closely with the SENCO, staff, and families Candidate Requirements: CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, including non-verbal needs Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach Desirable: Experience with PECS, Makaton, or other alternative communication methods Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Why work with Axcis?
