Job Title: Secondary School Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – 1:1 & Classroom Support
Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: £85 – £95 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Axcis are working with several welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Tameside area that is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs including ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom
- Support the class teacher with differentiated learning activities
- Work closely with the school SENCO and wider staff to implement individual learning and behaviour support plans
- Help to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
- Encourage the development of social, emotional, and academic progress
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with SEN students in a school or alternative provision setting
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential
- Teamwork and good communication skills.
