Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant Location: London, Sutton Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, Full time Pay: Paid to scale Start Date: Monday 1st September We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant educational team in the London, Sutton area. Responsibilities: • Work under the guidance of the teaching staff to support students in the classroom, ensuring a safe and stimulating educational environment. • Provide assistance to individual students or small groups to help them understand and complete their tasks and improve their learning outcomes. • Monitor and encourage student progress, providing feedback to teachers on their performance and needs. • Prepare and organize classroom resources and materials to facilitate daily activities. • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs. • Facilitate the behavioural management of students, promoting positive social interactions and enforcing school policies. • Participate in departmental meetings and teacher planning sessions as required. • Assist with the supervision of students during non-classroom times including arrival, dismissal, and breaks. Requirements: • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools or equivalent. • Experience working with secondary-aged students. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Committed to supporting students' educational and developmental needs. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently. • Enhanced DBS check clearance.
