Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – SEND School (SEMH)
Location: Orpington
Hours: Full-time (Monday – Friday)
Setting: Primary & Secondary
Student Needs: Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) & Challenging Behaviours
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dedicated team at an SEND school in Orpington.
The Role:
Supporting primary and secondary students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, structured lessons.
Encouraging emotional well-being and fostering a nurturing learning environment.
Implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive interactions.
Working Hours:
Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with SEMH students or in a SEND setting (preferred but not essential).
Strong behaviour management skills.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
