Job Vacancy: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Hillingdon, Hayes | Start Date: ASAP Hours: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM) Pay: From £89 per day (PAYE) Are you passionate about supporting young people with complex emotional needs? A welcoming and inclusive SEND primary school in Hillingdon is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their SEND School. This role involves working closely with pupils who already have EHCPs and often present with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can keep children engaged in classwork, manage challenging behaviour, and support emotional regulation in a structured, supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: -Provide 1:1 and small group support to primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs -Engage students in learning and help de-escalate disruptive behaviour -Maintain a calm, consistent presence in the classroom -Work closely with teaching staff to implement tailored learning and behaviour plans -Record progress and incidents in line with safeguarding and school policy Ideal Candidate: -Experienced in supporting pupils with SEMH and/or working in PRU or SEND settings -Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour fairly but firmly -Calm, empathetic, and professional under pressure -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Relevant training in safeguarding or behaviour management (desirable) Requirements: -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service -UK-based experience supporting children in educational settings -Availability to work full-time, Monday–Friday (8:15 AM – 4:15 PM) -Confident dealing with severe EBD and behavioural challenges If you're looking for a meaningful role where you can make a lasting impact on vulnerable young learners, inna SEND Primary school in Hayes, and can commit full-time, we’d love to hear from you.
