Job Title: Teacher - Year 6/7
Are you an experienced and passionate teacher looking for your next opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs?
A vibrant and nurturing all-through special needs school is currently seeking an experienced teacher to join their dedicated team. You’ll be working with a mixed Year 6 and 7 class of 8 pupils, all of whom have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional complex learning needs. The pupils are working towards Key Stage 1 curriculum expectations and benefit from a high level of individualised support.
About the Role:
- Mixed Year 6/7 class of 8 pupils
- Supported by a tutor and four experienced teaching assistants
- High staff-to-student ratio, with some pupils requiring 1:1 support for safety and engagement
- Most pupils use a range of AAC systems, including symbol boards, Makaton, and VOCA devices
- A very active class where movement and physical activity are part of daily learning
- Guided by the school’s warm and inclusive ethos: Love, Learn, Laugh
What We're Looking For:
- A skilled and empathetic teacher with experience in SEN
- Confidence in using or willingness to learn AAC methods
- A creative, flexible approach to teaching and learning
- Ability to lead and inspire a strong support team within the classroom
- Interviews/trials available immediately, with the view to start as soon as possible.
